The burn isn't very severe, but it took off the very top layer of skin. Seriously, I thought of using Preparation H because of its soooooothing properties, and because it is more often applied to sensitive tissue too ;-) Would that work?

It sounds like you have a 2nd degree, or partial thickness burn...hopefully not worse. How big is it? Dime size?
Quarter size? Bigger? If it is "all your wrist" or something that big you might want to have it seen. Personally, and by practice as a Paramedic for 25 years, my advice is to put absolutely nothing on a burn except perhaps a clean or sterile bandage slightly moistened with clean water. If you "put a bunch of stuff" on a burn that the MD eventually has to see, they will just have to clean if off...at the expense of a lot of hurtin'. If you have no allergies, you might want to try an Asprin or Tylenol or such. Yowee.

Aloe worked wonders for me when I got a burn from a pot. I had a plant that I just rubbed my finger with. I'm sure the aloe gel you can get at a store would work just as well. It cools the skin down, if it starts to feel like it's burning again just rub on some more. My burn healed over more quickly than it ever did before.

I wouldn't recommend using Prep H. for burns, but what do I know? I know there is a good burn ointment called Neosporin that has a pain reliever in it .... it really works well! There is also an ointment called A&D that works! I hope you take care of this soon, even though it's small, it could still leave a scar if you don't get something to heal it!
