In my area (northeastern US) a breeder usually charges $900-$1000 for a weaned bird. Pet stores are more expensive and price them at $1300-$1400. By the way, don't even THINK about buying an unweaned baby bird and run, don't walk, from a seller who tries to sell you one! Handfeeding is not for beginners and you could easily end up killing the bird!

i have seen a varitey of prices, the pet shop that i go to is realitively high in prices with birds, thank goodness i am more of a fish and reptile fan. I like birds its just that im not a captive bird person, i enjoy the free ones much more. but any ways. i have seen prices of 700 and on up. just depends i guess. but htye are one of the most intelligent breeds, or thats what i have heard anyway. good luck

Around $500.00 and up.

Keep in mind that this doesn't reflext the amount of money it will cost when it comes to care. Cages fit for African Greys are expensive, not to mention regular veterinary care, food, toys, etc.

There are not three types. There are only two. However, the cost of the bird is the least amount of money you have to think about. You need to research everything else as well. A very large cage, lots of toys, top notch diet, not to mention how much of your own time is involved. If you have no experience with Avian vet bills, you are in for a shock possibly. They are among the highest vet bills you will see. If you have no previous experience with birds, a Grey is not considered a good first bird. They are very complex and a lot of knowledge is needed before attempting to take one on. When having a Grey, it is like having a 3 year old child that will never grow up. You need to make yourself aware of all it's requirements before making a decision.

It depends on where you go. Bird shows from around $450.00 to $700.00. From flea markets about the same and from pet stores $700.00 to about $1200.00.
