that Laptop Jesus isn't a guy?
:-)

Just for anyone who is curious - I'm really female, 28 years old, separated, mom of three, 5'8", size eight, blonde/blue-gray, lit major/art minor at Hobart and William Smith, straight - and very, very picky when it comes to men (I'm partial to dark haired, blue eyed, intelligent, witty men between 30-45 with careers in the arts, though...)

Surprised, but not disappointed. I'm much too old and been married waaaay too long to get my old heart a'flutter over someone on the Internet.*

I must admit that there were a couple of people that I always thought were he's that turned out to be she's.

* And if you believe that, I've got some prime real estate in Florida to discuss with you! ;-)

I am gratified that my instinct in addressing Laptop (directly) in a gender-non-specific way was correct. Initially I assumed male avatar=male, but when I actually thought about it I realised that made no sense.

Then again I have a tendency to address avatars as well - I figure that if someone has decided to present themselves in a particular way, then I should respect that. I also have a tendency to use "Mr" and "Sir" quite a lot whether I have thought about gender or not. So when I once addressed Smarty Pants as "Mr Pants" I was in some ways addressing the avatar, but also "Mr Pants" is much funnier than "Ms Pants". Whereas "Mistress Ploppy" is much funnier than "Master Ploppy." Go figure!

Straight, gay, male, female, I'm just always happy to stumble across someone who exhibits wisdom and thoughtfulness, an equal willingness to teach and to learn - and of course it helps if they're a funny fnarg too!

HA!! No, no, I knew she was a girl pretty much right from the beginning... and I'm married...

Hey, I've had women actually HIT ON ME because they thought I'M a guy. I'm used to the confusion.

It's the internet, it doesn't really matter. You can imagine everybody just to be how you want. If you want Laptop Jesus to be a guy, then to you it's a guy.

Hell, in my imagination even Gandalf is a girl.

Ouch a cross dresser. I will not assume that the avatar is gender correct anymore!

He isn't??? I am not too concerned since I thought him a very young man. I am too old to rock his cradle.
