Ok, so basically I'm computer illiterate. I'm trying to burn a CD, which has always worked without a problem previously. Now it says "connect a burner and restart player" when I try to burn a CD. Also, I tried to put a DVD in the same laptop drive and it doesn't play either. Could a plug have come unloose inside my laptop to cause this problem? Is there any way of fixing it without bringing it to a computer repair shop? It's possible that I might have knocked my laptop and my drive may have shifted in position so that it doesn't recognize CDs and DVDs anymore. Thanks for any advice.

one ingredient to attempt is flashing the bios, yet you may choose the suited make, variety AND revision of your stress to get the the perfect option BIOS. even in spite of the shown fact that those units use distinctive lasers for examining and writing and each so often the writing laser burns out. In different situations, it ought to easily be the coolest judgment board has long gone undesirable. the two way, probability is it is no longer repairable (for below the $50 CDN it might take to purchase a sparkling one), so I propose changing the stress. If the device have been a computing device, it must be well worth some attempt, yet you may could have an electronics history and get right of entry to to low-fee components (like from different lifeless drives of the suited comparable make and variety)
