you can get a travel visa whilst going thru the whole process and YES it costs ya yet again.............really not sure of the actual name of the form but got to the web site and they will have a link for you to it............DO NOT leave without it as you could be refused a re entry OR have to pay again to start from the beginning..........this is also stated on the paper work.
Hope your dad is OK and you are not going back cos he is ill?................If he is doing well it would work out cheaper for you to fly him over here maybe?

If you are marry to a US citizen...You will be able to travel after you get you Legal Residence here and will take bet wen 7-9 months the most...Never recommended to travel before you do get the green card.

If your dad is a citizen of the UK shouldn't you automatically be one too?
