I second the BreathRx system. It uses a spray to kill odor causing germs, and a very good scraper to scrape away any remaining bacteria. It recommends use every day, but you can use it once a week and it will still help greatly. Just use listerine or crest pro health in between. And of course, brush your teeth daily!

Have your teeth cleaned by a dentist. Brush and floss twice daily if you can. Ginger is also good - you can chew the root, drink ginger tea, or buy crystalized ginger. Ginger ale is not so good as the sugar will increase bacterial growth in your mouth and start bad breath all over again.

Try rinsing with baking soda and water if your breath is really bad. But you should find out WHY it is bad - it could be a serious health problem. And drink lots of water to get rid of any stuff stuck between your teeth and to flush out your system too.

Make sure you are doing super good oral care, sometimes bad breath is really gingivitis or other gum/tooth related issues. Use a good mouthwash like scope or listerene, be sure to floss, and brush well. You may also need a tongue scraper, at least make sure to brush your tongue. If your gums are red, swollen, tender and bleed easy then you should see your dentist and keep up the good oral care.

I've tried lots of things and some bad breath "remedies" actually make the situation worse! (Some mouthwashes for example contain alcohol which dries out the mouth and bad breath returns rapidly.)

I'm afraid that based on my experience gum has the longest lasting effect.

Good luck! I hope this helped.

You could pull out your toungue. That way your mouth will keep bleeding, and the only thing anyone can smell is your blood....
....or else you could always take some bubble gum...(NOT chewing gum)

A thorough toothbrushing, including the tongue is a good start. But if you are lookin for a quick fix, I find those Listerine Strips effective.

I have also heard (not sure if it's true) that your breath can smell bad in the morning if you don't eat breakfast... something about being able to smell the stomach acid. Sounds weird to me but who knows?
