Yes, it would be legal in any state in USA to date a guy when you are 17. Dating is just "being" with him, and there is no law just being with a guy. The gap in your age shouldn't have anything to worry about...that is only 6 years. I know some people that have a larger gap in years, and they are married, and quite happy.
One couple I know, has been married for 30 years, the man is 57, and his wife is 92, BUT, they have love for each other....unlike some of these young people who "love em...and leave em". Just have fun, and before you have sex after you turn 18, then be sure that he is the guy for you.

Lets make this clear, it is illegal for him to have sex with a 17 year old girl, not the other way around. Yes you can date but the minute it goes beyond that, he not you, is in trouble. It makes no difference if the 17 year old instigated the sex or not, he will still be in trouble, period!!!!

if your talking about canada, a 14 yearold can date a man of any age and have sex as well. i am 18 and my boyfriend is 25..we have a beautiful baby boy together and are very happy....i have been with him since i was 15 years old. anyways good luck with that!

Yes. It is legal. No sex is a good thing! That way you can get to know each other & can become friends. If romance comes later - wonderful! Be cool.

I was told it's illegal to even date someone 18 or older if you're 17 or younger.
