hi, i want to get a tattoo on my inner wrist. this will be my first tattoo and was just wondering as the skin is thinner and will be getting the tatt just over main arteries and vains is there any extra "danger" or anything to take into account for getting this.
also do you think its advisable this being my first tatt? or should i get another tattoo elsewhere on my body first?
thanks

I just got one done on my wrist, and I really like it. it wasn't too painful, and your tattoo artist shouldn't be digging deep enough to hit main stuff. it took like 10 min. for a small vine heart. if you are young, however, consider which career paths you have been looking at. make sure such an obvious tattoo will not be something you regret.

btw thickness of skin doesn't really determine pain...it would actually be related to the amount of nerve endings in the skin on the area tattooed

I am not a tattoo expert, just a girl with a few tatts. But I would think that the tattoo gun does not penetrate the skin deep enough to pose a risk to your veins. If the artist does, find a different artist. But you should check this out with a pro...my word certainly is not golden here

I do not have a tattoo on my wrist, but I imagine since the skin is thinner, it may be more painful than an area with more fat.

As far as should you do it for your first tat.
Ask yourself a few questions:
why your wrist...because you saw it on someone else, because you want a public place to put your tattoo idea. Or will your idea look great there.
In the end, Do what is right for you

I have an ID bracelet around and I do mean all the way around my wrist. There was no danger as the needle doesn't penetrate that deeply below the skin. Getting the tattoo wasn't bad at all. After a while it had gotten numb and I didn't feel it anyways and it didn't take long. I say go for it. I love mine just make sure it will be one you wont regret in the long run.

I have a tattoo on my inne wrist, and I have very prominent vains. I thought it would be dangerous as well, but the tattoo artist assured me it would be fine, and it was. Also, it wasn't painful at all. If it's a small tattoo then it should be over within minutes. Mine took 5 minutes.

yes, i also want to get a tattoo on my inner wrist, i actually asked a question about it on here, heaps of people said it was safe, and i'm sure it is otherwise they would tattoo there right? i think the pain might be a little bit worse though, but then i didnt experience pain with my tattoo, it was just more irritating at a couple of points... good luck!

exactly what kind of tattoo are you looking at? a band would be nice, but thats just me....before you start tattooing ,you should try somewhere not noticeable to see if you can handle the pain and if your skin is allergic to the ink or the needle.I hope a professional will be the one to tattoo you. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR DECISION. I have a hawaiian -tea-leaf band around my wrist .took about a week for the swelling to go away ,but its BAD -TO-THE-BONE!!!!

the wrist tatt will be rather painful. i would suggest getting one on a meatier part of the body first, like upper arm or leg. if you can deal with that then go for the wrist.

it dosent matter where you get your first they all hurt, my boyfriend has one on his wrist, he said it wasnt too bad but it depends on your own pain threshold, if it hurts ask the tattooist to stop whenever you need & check out their reputation talk to their customers or ask them questions if you need
