There is a litter of puppies being born in Oct, which means they couldn't go home until Dec and I don't think I can wait that long to get a new puppy. Would it be better if I got two puppies now or would it be ok to get one now and get the other puppy in december so they'd be like 9 months apart. Would they still get along and adjust to each other?

Actually better to get 1 puppy now and 1 later. If they are raised as a pair, they tend to bond more with themselves than with you. You want to be the alpha member in their lives, makes training much easier.
After the 9 months go's by,the young dog is pretty well adjusted with you, rules, and mental habits.Another young puppy at that time should go well.

it is better to get them at different times. the reason is that they are breaking that litter bond and need time to form a bond with you as the new pack leader. if you get 2 puppies from the same litter, they will never really break that bond and properly bond to you.

in addition when you get your new puppy, you should keep the 2 dogs apart for a while to let the new one bond to you. after a few weeks, start them off with short visits.

hope this helps

In over 50 years of training dogs I am still to see the first pup live up to it's potential when it was raised with a littermate.

It does not matte which way you go. Just as long as your
not planning on breeding them, cause than I would suggest
that you not get two from the same litter.

if you have the time to train them both, and are certain you want two, I would suggest getting them together.

several reasons, feeding will be easier since they are same age they can eat same food

trips to the vet for vaccination etc. will be the same

one wont be bigger than the other at playtime...

consider all factors, make sure you want two and can afford 2.
