The biggest dog (and breed of dog) in terms of mass is the English Mastiff, with Zorba the OEM taking the crown.

Just so you know, the Great Dane is not the tallest dog breed. Yes, they are certainly very tall but they aren't the tallest. The Irish Wolfhound is the tallest dog breed.

actually the tallest breed is the irish wolfhound and then the great dane and the heaviest would be the the English Mastiff -- nicknamed the gentle giant -- and the Saint Bernard are generally considered the heaviest breeds.
