With gold, carats refer to the parts per 24 of pure gold.

It's usually spelled Karat when referring to gold purity.

White gold is an alloy, never 24 karat gold.

What karat gold are you talking about? The price is different based on if it's 10, 14, 18, or 22 karat gold.
