I know that D & C 132 was relinquished in 1890 by the Woodruff manifesto. How is it handled in church teachings today?

Read Presidents of the Church, from 2006, which details WWs revelation about D&C 132 and how it can be addressed in the church.

The first manifest relinquished polygamy, but the Church adheres to the second manifesto, to wit: The ambiguity was ended in the General Conference of April 1904, when the First Presidency, under President Joseph F. Smith, issued the "second manifesto," an emphatic declaration that prohibited plural marriage and proclaimed that offenders would be subject to Church discipline. They declared that any who participated in additional plural marriages, and those officiating, would be excommunicated from the church.

We talk about this in Elders Quorum on occasion, not so much the plurality of wives, but the necessity of it at times in the historical context when so many infants died...and as health care improved, there is no more need for it. Also, if you study evolutionary theory, you know that males in almost all species are genomically 'preloaded' to try and create as many offspring as possible with as many females. Considering Divine Design, could this be supportive of polygamy in a 'natural/organic sense?

They do not talk about it. I went to the mormon church for twenty years. I have nothing against some that still go, but it was not for me. The church teaches that it was neccesary to take care of the women in the church who had no husband. Another purpose was to produce more offspring. They also teach that the reason it ceased to be a practice because god told them not to do it anymore. I hope I helped no hate just facts.

Doctrine & Covenants Section 132 is still valid and crucial today. It was only plural marriage that ceased and became illegal as revealed by President Woodruff.

Read the entire section before going off half-******.
