actions speak louder than words, thats all i can say. go by how it feels, or the vibe that u get. if hes doing everything right up to this point, i dont see any reason to stir up trouble or question him on it. but if like, he chooses friends over you, and doesnt want to spend time with you, that would be a problem. but im afraid that this is something us outsiders wouldnt be able to answer, since we dont really know the situation.
oh yeah, i just read the person above me, whos kinda right...how old are you? love at that age is not really stable.

You will know by his actions. Does he do things that are important to you but that he could Care less about. IE going to your friends birthday party. Do you have special dates and things that you do together. movie night, a certain bar or restaurant etc.? Does he listen to whats important to you and help you feel better? That's how you know it is really love...... Saying it a million times does not make it true

lemme guess your between 10 and 16 years oldand you've only been going out with this guy for about a week. HE DOESNT LOVE YOU THEY ALL SAY THAT AT A YOUNG ADE. he thinks he loves you but he dosent know the *true* meaning of love

Try not saying it to him first and see what happens. If he doesn't say it without being prodded by you saying it first...then I would have to say he's only saying it back because he doesn't know how else to respond. Sorry, but that's my take on it.
