I think some people really over-reacted in this thread. Sure some Christians can be annoying trying to convert others but there's nothing wrong with inviting a friend once! You can always ask, right?
Your friend probably just wants to share his faith with you, it might mean he's interested in you but it also may mean that he just likes to ask you along in a regular friendly manner. If you do believe in God and like to go, go ahead, see how you like his church. If you don't want to go, then simply decline. Only if he gets pushy and starts preaching or especially if he starts 'threatening' with how you'll go to hell for all of eternity if you don't believe what he does, then he's rude!

It is normal to invite people to church if going to church is normal for you. When I was a Teenager I asked friends to come to church with me all of the time. Even the boyfriends. I had no motives other than wanting to share something that meant allot to me. I wasn't trying to convert or force God on anyone. You can tell this friend no, if you don't want to go.

This guy goes all the time and just wants your company. He may feel since you don't usually attend church, maybe you would like his and want to go more often. All churches have different ways of service. Some are loud, some are boring, others are interesting. Now, I will probably get a thumbs down but who cares. If your friend is a Christian, he may want you to feel the same way he does. He feels joy knowing Jesus as his Savior. Instead of preaching to you. he might just want you to see for yourself. I for one am so happy that Jesus is the reason i live. I will never stop talking about my Savior when I have the opportunity. Praise God!

Yes, it's normal. Depending on the church and the guy, it is probably just innocently wanting to share that with you, or in some cases it could be the "must convert every living thing into my church" ordeal.

Yes, it is normal for someone to ask to to attend his or her church. He is probably being a friend and maybe he thinks it is time for you start going. Church is a place of fellowship with other believers. There are many different churches out there, just go there with an open mind and an open heart and you may just find the missing piece in your life. God bless you!

He's probably trying to convert you to whatever religion he is. Or trying to recruit you to become a member of his church. If I were you, I'd stay away from this guy. It's been my experience that only the truly strange ones (Southern Baptist, Jehovah's Witnesses and Latter Day Saints) do this. They're almost cultish. STAY AWAY!!

Churchy people are some times aggressive in this way... He thinks you need saving from something.... Though my brother often invites people out cause he's being "fruitful" Mind you he does belong to a born again ( recognized) cult that strongly encourages ( forces) him to invite as many people as he can.
So please be careful and polite if you end up going. You could easily decline by saying "No thank you I have my church already"

God wants his followers to spread the word about salvation so what better way than to invite you to hear Gods word from a professional in his(Gods) house.

Yes, perfectly normal. It means that he wants you to share that part of his life, and that it might be enjoyable for you both. Try it out, it could be more fun that you imagined.
