I have seen at the local Get Smart store where they dedicate a whole section on the 100 days of school. What is it and why is it celebrated?

It's a way to teach the little ones the concept of a hundred. In kindergarten, each child in my son's class brought in a collection of 100 small things, for example.

It is for Kindergartners that are learning to count. It gives them an incentive to practice counting to 100 which is why they also have a party at the end of the 100th day

school year is half way over for the teachers. it's there way and the kids way of learning 100 days...
