I woke up this morning with this horrible pain between my shoulder blades (mostly near my spine). It hurts when I take a deep breath or swallow either food or drink. I dont have insurance so therefore I dont have a doctor to go to. Any idea of what this may be?

Well, it could be one of 2 things. It could be a pulled muscle, (thats what it sounds like) or you could have gas. Believe it or not, gas can travel through out your mid-section and sometimes gets caught in air pockets, causing pain when air is inhaled (or swallowed when eating or drinking). These are just suggestions, I would still try to see a doctor just to make sure it's not something more serious. good luck

It could be a number of things...muscle strain, muscular spasms, or a more serious injury (slipped disc). Does applying heat make it feel better? If so, it could just be muscle tension. Take some ibuprofen & look into getting checked out by a doctor if it gets worse. You could always go to an ER. I hope you feel better.

does your county have a clinic the health clinics for the county can help based on need or call the local hospital social worker and then go down or heres a truth they have to treat you and after words take the bill into the social worker at the hospital they get grants to pay for folkes without enough income also go to the county welfare office even single men are able to get a medical card in most city and states according to income or just pay a dollar a month on the bill and if they send it to a collector then tell them thats all you have to pay ,,

Go see a chiropractor. There are a number of causes of back pain and no one can truly diagnose you without knowing your full history, and doing some physical, orthopedic, or other tests.

i believe i had this problem when i had a bad case of the flu. Apply for charity care at the hospital or call the health dept. their medical fees should be free.
Charity care pays for medical and dental.
When the flu went away, my back pains when away

pneumonia or something like it? I think you should go to a doctor you can find a care clinic or a urgent care, there must be a "free" or a health clinic in your area that you can go to.
I don't have insurance and it costs me about 118.00 to go see a doctor but I go if I am sick. Please go see a doctor.

call your local hospital and tell them your symptoms. you could be having what they call a 'silent' heart attack. My Mom had one of those and she didn't go to the doctor for months but they found it when they did that test on your heart when they check the valves.
