Sure. I'd even do it if she didn't thank me.

yes definately
Once I stopped in the middle of a very busy street. This woman (about 5'0 and probably 80 or so) was j-crossing and struggling to get up the curb and these cars were just wizzing by - not even slowing down. She lost her balance and fell on the boulevard! I stopped in the middle of the street and put my flashers on, forcing people to stop. I got out and helped her up, then gathered her bag and asked if she was ok. She said yes. I can't even remember if she thanked me but I don't care - her safety was far more important to me.

A lot of old ladies are paranoid about receiving help. It would not be right to help someone who prefers to do it themselves. You could be nearby in case she falls, or to protect her from traffic. But an old lady, unless she is senile or incompetent ,should be allowed to make as many decisions about her life if possible.

Well, if she didnt want to be helped, I wouldnt. Sometimes people are a bit condescending in helping people. I think you have to be sensitive. But if she really did need help I would be happy to, whether she was rude or not.

Sure I would. Just the other day I walked up to a busy street corner and yelled at an old lady across the street "HOW DO I
GET ACROSS THE STREET"! And she yelled back " DUH,
YOU ARE ACROSS THE STREET"!

sure why not.
but if she really didn't want me to
and i helped her it would be illegal
like under harassment.
but i would do it (unless she really didn't want me to)
because it is a good deed..and it would make God happy.
