Dogs test it.......they do tast tests, but more importantly, they due full nutritional analysis just like in people food. Keep one thing in mind: dog food companies are not advertising to your dog, they are advertising to you. Go with your gut.
22-27% protien is good
10-15 % fat is good
the first ingredient should be a protien, like chicken, eggs, fish or soy

Mostly rats or mice tests the foods and I personally think they shouldn't do that to them sometimes the type of anmal the food is for gets to test it most of the time that animal dies...I think people are so cruel for doing this!!!

Dogs,dumbass.Dogs!. When they change a receipe they feed the new stuff to ACTUAL dogs.If the changes aren't palatteable to the dog they adjust the receipe and go on from there.
