My son only has 6 teeth right now, but there are times when he starts grinding them so hard that we can hear them crunching together. His dad does the same thing in his sleep when he's stressed. Is there anything I can do to get him to stop?

My son is doing the same thing right now as I type and it drives me nuts! My other three did the same thing also while they were teething. It's normal and it'll soon be done. I really wouldn't make a big deal out of it and I certainly wouldn't put any mouth guards in his mouth. I give my son his teething toys when he really gets going with it and he'll chew on those instead.

My son is 10 months previous and has been grinding his enamel for almost a month now. He infrequently does it now, yet he used to do it constantly, and it made all and sundry draw back. only forget approximately approximately it, maximum toddlers develop out of it, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it only takes time. especially cases even a distraction won't artwork, which could be complicated. i do no longer likely understand why they do it, I actual have been instructed it rather is basically the recent feeling and sounds interior their mouth, yet others have stated it rather is basically a faze, the two one, only bypass with it, and forget approximately approximately it, a toddler will ultimately understand that it is not some thing to be doing, and that they're going to end of their very own accord.. i'm hoping. =] stable success.

7 years ago I've been involved in a car wreck and even since suffered with severe on and off facial and jaw pain. I've tried almost everything western medicine had to offer and had visited countless of specialist, had done ct scans, and therapies but to no avail. The doctors I have been to had persisted that there wasn't anything wrong with me and that almost drove me crazy as I was going through hell from this condition. According to all my symptoms I was diagnosed by a holistic doctor as having TMJ and he had recommended this book to me. After following the recommendation in the book for several weeks, it had changed my life. I got immediate relief after following the unique set of exercises in the book and after 2 weeks the jaw and face pain had completely gone. I only wish I would have ordered this program years ago. It would have saved me a lot of pain and anguish.

You may have to wait until he is older but there are sleeping mouth guards out that stops it when they are sleep. My bf has the same problem it sounds like he is eating or something in his sleep.

I've been told I also do that in my sleep...it could be because he's teething...but I would check with the doctor on this one. Good luck!

You don't . If you make too big a deal out of it that can make it worse. He might out grow it. If you are still worried you can always take him to a pediatric dentist. He isn't to young.

My mom is a nurse and she said there are mouth guards for sports. yo can cut them down to fit his little mouth (make sure there are no loose pieces) and when he falls asleep pull his lower jaw out and down like you do with CPR and put it in his mouth. i don't know what you could do when hes awake maybe a binky?
