There is a such thing as loving someone because they may love you as a friend or someone that they care for but they are not in love with you. They do not share the love of two people as a couple, maybe because they don't see you that way or because they can't find it in their heart. The emotions and feelings of being in love with someone is not present. They would anything for you, be there for you when you need them to be but they can't give you the love and compassion that is associated with two people that have become one or a couple. I know because I had to learn that the hard way and I had to let someone know that the way I was feeling towards them was not that of being in love with them. I had to let that person go. I still love them but I 'm not in love with them. That is what this means.

Yes, you can love someone in a non-romantic sense, out of friendship or family matters, such as loving your mother or father because they care about you. So, yes, it does make sense, because you can love someone and care about them without falling in love with them.

Yes, there is such a thing. You can love someone, but there is a huge difference to be in love with someone.

Listennnn.... to ya boy. Of course you can be love someone without being in love with them. Example you love your Mom or Dad (I presume you do), but I'm sure you don't want to spend the rest of your life with them (again I presume). Love is hard to lose when you have real love for someone, but its easy to fall out of love. Its hard to explain but in due time you will know the feeling.

In love means you want to be with them forever, and just love could be like loving a person as family. There is a big difference.

That is the worst way of hurting some one. That's more lust than love. No it does not make sense because it isn't a true statement

Yes, this exists. It's generally the love you feel for family and close friends. This type of love differs from the love you feel for your significant other.

well, not to me, but i suppose it's possible to love someone and not be in love with them.
there are different types of love: like unconditional love, empathatic love, passionate love, etc. so maybe if someone told you that they loved you without being in love with you, it might just be that they simply love you in a different way, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

yes. being in love is a more passionate type of thing. loving someone is another way of saying i really care about you & you mean alot to me. but being IN LOVE with someone is so much deeper.
i think it would really hurt me to hear those words from someone i was in love with.
