The Los Angeles mega-tropolis is roughly 45 miles wide, and 100 miles long if you include all the neighboring counties. It would be much easier to name the areas you do NOT want to look at. So much will depend on how much you can afford, and what areas you will be routinely traveling to.

areas of Chicago are fairly super, whether, it fairly is beneficial to envision the suburbs for extra fee-effective hire, whether, you will choose a vehicle. while you're prepared to stay some million/2 hour from the city look at Naperville, Wheaton, St. Charles for residences. Approx one thousand.00 for an incredible condominium interior the suburbs, same fee for an ok place interior the city.

Magda, as incredible as it seems traffic is twice as bad in L.A. as Chicago. It is important to live near where you work, go to school or where you hobby is (like are you a surfer or a skier?)
The peeps answering above here know a ton about L.A. please, please post more details, they can really help you a lot, if they know about your work, school, and/or hobby preferences and so on...Thanks...

tell us where you will be working. there are just too many options to be specific
like paris said, try to live as close to your work as possible, to minimize what will be a horrendous commute no matter what.
