The pain starts if I am on my feet for more than 10 minutes, it's also hard to walk in the morning, very stiff

Find a specialist. They can give you a steroid epidural which reduces the inflammation and in conjunction with PT can pretty much take care of it by strengthening the muscles around it. My husband just had a cervical and a lumbar done in November, fininshed PT last month and feels like a different person.

I will have to say that its the bed you sleep in. I have 3 bulging disk and had a lot of trouble till I got a firm mattress with a quilt top. I also sleep with a thin pillow. Not only do I sleep better but I can walk when I get up.
