Hi ! My husband made an allotment to our other account . We have two navy federal accounts both of we are joined owners . On his MyPay account A checking is where his pay directly goes . Now he decided to make an allotment that will be deposited to account B checking ( again both accounts are in the same bank and same owner ) . Now the net pay has reflected on account A checking already but the alloted money is still not on account B checking . MyPay LES is not yet updated and all I can see is the net pay but not the whole list of where everything went ( military people knows what I am talking about ) . So my question is , is it normal for allotments to not reflect on the account it is supposed to go to for a little while due to transfer issues or should it reflect about the same time the net pay is forwarded to the direct deposit account ? Thanks for the help and please no dumb remarks .....

he just established this allotment last month and in there he said he put march as the start of the said allotment . if it does take a while to take effect, where is the money then ? the net pay we received is less the amount that is equivalent to the allotment money that should have been deposited to the other account .

Two issues here.
Most everybody has explained the first issue. If he put the allotment in after a certain point last month, it won't be effective until April pay period (Pay dates of 15 April and 1 May).
The other issue is that allotments are only sent to their destination accounts at the end of the pay month in question. So in your case, if your husband got the allotment set up in time to be effective during the March pay month, the allotment that is being sent to your second account will not be released until the end of March.
The DK1 on my first ship explained this to me when I set up an allotment for my car payment, because he wanted to make sure I didn't accidentally miss a payment.

When a military member starts an allotment it takes up to 1 1/2 months to start depending on when he starts it. If he started the allotment lets say after the 15th of January you will not see the money till the first of March. You do not get the money till the month after it is with held from your check, so they with hold the money from the 15th on February check and from the 1st of March check then move the money to your other checking account on the 1st of March. Now if he started it prior to the 15th then you will get it on the 1st of the next month. Hope that helps. Bill

If you sent the allotment form in this month, it's not going to start getting shifted over until next month, so this month's pay is not going to reflect any change. Depending on how slow your finance office is, if you turn it in near the middle/end of the month, it might not even process until May, but it should have already gone through.

You'll only see all of those things on the End of Month LES... today is the 15th that LES is only a summary/receipt of what you were paid...the End of Month will list all of your entitlements, deductions, alloments, leave, etc... also, allotments only come out once per month...so it's too early to stress...
You may want to enroll in AFTB Level I and learn about benefits and entitlements.

depends on the allotment start date. it will list a start date when he set it up it probably was too late for this check and will start on the next one. you can look at the allotments on mypay just look down the list and click on allotments it will tell you what goes where and when it goes

How long ago did he do this?
It can take a month or so for it to actually go into effect. They are pretty slow.
