If there is a god, wouldn't an easier explanation be that "god" created the universe and then left it alone to govern itself?

Most religions like to put humans on a high pedestal. Like we are the most important beings in the whole universe, when we are nothing more than carbon based life forms on some little rock that revolves around an average star at the edge of a average galaxy amongst billions of other galaxies.

If there is a god why would he give a rats behind about us?

Saying god cares about us is like saying I went to the sahara desert and picked out a single grain of sand to care for.

irf- I don't get what you are trying to say. Why are these concepts not for me. Is it because i'm not a believer that i will never see the "light". I need more than chicken-**** answers.

Like I stated before. I would like more than just chicken-**** answers about this topic. Not being able to see the "truth" or not being "saved" are fubar.

"like going to the sahara .... single grain of sand"
well, that's the claim, that God does care for each individual.
You need to read Small Gods by Terry Prachett.

God exists irrespective of what religions say. For human beings God is the creation of Religion. When religions create God, God takes different forms, shapes, powers depending on the religious leaders. Since God is so simple to understand, nothing much needs to be written about God. But religious texts reflect the attempt to glorify God, to make simple things complicated, to earn a decent livelihood by preaching, to narrate the experience of trying to attain Godhood, to sermonise from a level between the God and the ordinary men, to build communities based on blind faith. Problem is not with the scriptures. It is an essential part of God's creation that different sets of people will visualise God in different waysand each set will believe that their conception of God is the most appropriate. This is the Natural Law of God, the Creator or the essence of Creation.
If everybody realises what is God, human civilisation will soon come to an end. Religions ensure that most people fail to realise God. that's how human civilisation can progress.

The God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob....better known as Jesus daddy did not abandon the world nor is He a deist.....Read the bible or take up a bible study group there are many resources at christian bookstores.

Carbon ~ schmarbon.......God created everything even the science & physics of this world. What He desires is a personal relationship with you....He not interested in a human scientific lesson in geology & physics. Why would He since He is the creator? Use common sense & pray to Him & read His written word........<>< <><

By making religious text so complex:I think that is what its suppose to be, that way there is always a question.Sure there are some heated debates. And yes even wars have been fought over religion. But if everything was cut and dried,no doubt what was the exact truth, every one knew everything, nothing to really think about,I think people might lose interest.Keep the people guessing, make us wonder.Make us use our minds.God has a plan and there`s a reason for everything.

Dude, it feels so good to have someone else on my side about this, i believe that he created some small part of earth, or universe. But to stay ansd watch trees grow for billions of years is just a stupid joke. And all you jesus fans, no DINASOURS mentioned in the bible huh... and dinosours bones are older then the oldest corpse of a human found. Funny isnt it. I agree about everything stated above, thanks for mentioning this, it just gets me mad when i hear some religiouse bullcrap.

p.s. im not a phyco antichrist, just some guy that belives if a "god" did creat us, why would he care about us praising and singing towards him, greedy bastaaard.. hehe

PPS today how do we serve god? God serves us, he created us, he seves me weed, i dont give anything back.. but he keeps givin me weed...

actually, He LET man govern himself. are we the most important created beings in the universe? when I meet Marvin the Martian, I'll tell you.

and I wouldn't call the Milky Wat galaxy average, as we're one of the 65 of possible galaxies that can potentially support life. Besides, catastrophes that destroy other galaxies aren't as common here...

why wouldn't God care about other beings? He created us similar to Him, but we mess up. Don't you think someone who's omniscient would want to interact with such interesting creations, whom He loves?

and earth has very picky genetics. it was a 5 x 10 to the power of 123 chance that the universe could support human life

God loves us and created all of this for our existence.
I wouldn't call the sun an average star. It is the right size and age to suit us best. And the Bible says God sustains His creation. He didn't make it and go do something else.

A person will not understand the Bible until they get saved. You need to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. When you do that the Holy Spirit comes and lives in your heart and he opens up the scriptures to you. You can't possibly understand the scriptures with out the Holy Spirit's guidance.

I am 63 years old, and I have asked myself that question in regards to how much special education is required in Seminaries to teach a preacher to teach a simple message from Jesus. I will spare you my belief as a Self-read Christian, but basically the message of God and brought to us by Jesus is:

Harmony is harmony; disharmony is the only sin against God.

I am suspicious of any Bible verse that advocates disharmony or dismisses the value of harmony.
