OK, I had mine pierced several years ago, after two months it got sore and red. I washed it like the place told me, using the liquid antibacterial soap, and rinsed it with a saline they recommended. After a few day it was better. Then I got a blister just above it, used the saline again, and problem resolved again. Then a few weeks later I got Chicken pox (I was 19)one formed in the piercing and that was end of story, I started bleed from inside the piercing and I was done, i took it out. I have talked with several piercers from that shop and others, they all said it sounded like an allergy to the metal, which only became more complicated by the chicken pox. It makes sense to me b/c I can only wear real solid gold in my ears, and had similar problems with spontaneous bleed from second holes in my ears. It was recommended I get a titanium piece, b/c it is the most hypo- allergenic of all the metals.

I have 7 peircings, had 2 others but had to remove them... anyway, it doesn't sound infected. The hard part you feel is where it has healed in the new form (where the ring is, it didn't used to be that way). Signs of an infected peircing : redness(darker red... not just a pinky red) on and around the peircing, pus, pain. Not all pus , mine usually have a little but are not red nor painful. Look at the papers the peircing place gave you for care and general information. If you don't have any go back to them and have them look at it and give you new info. If there is any kind of redness that seems to be going away from the area (steaks of red) then seek a doctor right away.. you could get blood poisoning... but really it sounds fine.. keep it clean and don't play with it to much, and don't squeeze it!

I WOULD CLEAN THE AREA WITH THE WASH SOLUTION THEY RECOMEND FOR PIERCINGS, IF NO IMPROVEMENT IN FEW DAYS GET IN TO DOC...YOU MAY NEED AN ANTIBIOTIC IF IT TURNS INTO A SECONDARY INFECTION--WHICH IS AN INFECTION FROM THE INFECTION, I WOULD RECOMMEND ALCOHOL, BUT DUE TO THE AREA I THINK BEST BET IS DOCTOR, YOU COULD DEVELOP A WORSE INFECTION LIKE STAPH OR BACTERIAL INFECTION...TAKE CARE ASAP!!

Talk to your parents. Have them take you to your doctor and get your doctor to check it out. It could be infected, or something else could be going on. Without us seeing it, we can't honestly tell you what's happening.

You should be cleaning it with anti-bacterial soap (liquid kind) about once or twice daily. Whatever you do make sure you don't touch it with your hands unless you've washed them really well before touching it!
