My parents had a beardie- great dogs!
The best thing to do is to become instrumental in your dog's life. YOU be the one to feed him, YOU be the one to walk him, YOU be the one to let him in/out to go potty. He will eventually know to turn to you for the necessities, and the rest will fall into place. Be sure to spend time with him daily- even if its only 15 minutes. Take a handful of cheerios and head to a quiet part of the house or outside and work on training/ playing with him. Good Luck!

Time is the biggest factor in getting any animal to bond with you and enjoy you. If you only spend 5 minutes a day playing, and the rest you are ignoring, or worse, chasing the dog off you, then it will be almost impossible to get the dog to play and love you. If you have done anything to abuse the dog, even accidentally, it can take some time for the dog to readjust and trust you again.
Good luck.

Bearded Collie's are very lovable dogs, just try to play with him as much as you can, without over doing it.

There are a lot of relationship games that you can play - a Google search for "Dog relationship games" will help.
What games are you trying to play with your dog? Does he like to tug? More info would be helpful.
