Here are some clear suggestions that can help you in becoming the person that you want.
"Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity. Be worthy of the trust of thy neighbor, and look upon him with a bright and friendly face. Be a treasure to the poor, an admonisher to the rich, an answerer of the cry of the needy, a preserver of the sanctity of thy pledge. Be fair in thy judgment, and guarded in thy speech. Be unjust to no man, and show all meekness to all men. Be as a lamp unto them that walk in darkness, a joy to the sorrowful, a sea for the thirsty, a haven for the distressed, an upholder and defender of the victim of oppression. Let integrity and uprightness distinguish all thine acts. Be a home for the stranger, a balm to the suffering, a tower of strength for the fugitive. Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring. Be an ornament to the countenance of truth, a crown to the brow of fidelity, a pillar of the temple of righteousness, a breath of life to the body of mankind, an ensign of the hosts of justice, a luminary above the horizon of virtue, a dew to the soil of the human heart, an ark on the ocean of knowledge, a sun in the heaven of bounty, a gem on the diadem of wisdom, a shining light in the firmament of thy generation, a fruit upon the tree of humility."

You are right where satan wants you, but not too far to ask Jesus back into your life. Satan wants to rob, steal and destroy! Fight the enemy with the Word of God. Read the Bible for Spiritual strength and to have a more intimate relationship with The Lord. If you allow your spiritual health to starve by not feeding your spirit the Word of God, then it will eventually wither away as you say. What would happen to your physical body if you didn't feed it? It too, would wither and lose strength. Your spiritual strength is weakening and the enemy (satan) is attacking you! Pray, pray, pray. The Holy Spirit will open your eyes and soften your heart to do the Will of God and follow the master of your life. Satan is trying to steal you away. There is a Spiritual battle going on, don't let anyone who doesn't believe influence you. Your eternal life depends on your decision to live for The Lord. The Lord will never leave you or forsake you! (biblical). Don't straddle the fence very long, ask Jesus to draw you closer to Him.

#1 Study the teachings of Christ. Use a red letter edition Bible and concentrate on what Christ taught in the 4 gospels first.
#2 Obey the teachings. Look up the parable of the 2 builders, one on sand the other on rock. The rock is obeying the words of Christ.
#3 Pray consistently. Pray fervently. Pray without ceasing.
#4 Use your gifts in a body of believers. Always learn, always teach.
So, to recap:
Daily study
Daily prayer
Daily fellowship

I know what you mean. I went through a dry spiritual spot lately. It helps to have some Christian friends you can talk to. Get involved in a group like LifeTeen or if your older something else. Pray for faith to God, read through the Bible, and don't turn to the Devil. Stay steady and ask God to help you, He loves you. Hey just look at a crucifix. Have you ever seen someone with a more loving hug awaiting you.

Seek ye first God's kingom and his righteousness then all these things will be added to you as well (the bible).
Following that bible verse will help you to get on the right tract. And following God's word in general instead of following the ways of the world will help you to become a better Christian.

You aren't born Christian. How to be a better Christian? Christianity is not a performance. It's knowing Christ as your Lord . Pray to genuinely know Christ as your Saviour. Commune with his people, other Christians, and commune with Him daily by reading His word. God bless. Ask the Lord to live through you.

Put God's Word to the test. He has promised blessings for those who follow His commandments.
Take a step of faith. Follow the teachings of Jesus, specifically this one... Love the Lord thy god with all thy heart, love thy neighbors as yourself. Then pray to Heavenly Father to help you recognize the blessings that come to those around you and to you.
When ever I feel like I'm falling away I remember S.O.S.
S=Service O=obedience S=Sacrifice.
Try to focus on the needs of others.
While you're doing these things, pray and ask for forgiveness of your sins. Wickedness never was happiness.

I think that learning what the purpose of your life is helps...
You can only get that from God....and once you know that purpose...you won't stray away from God....because you will know that He is your only "source" to following through with what it is that you are placed in this life at this time to do....
I know it may seem odd...but, that is the only thing that makes life and having a successful Christian life possible...
I know how you feel....and it comes from not really being defined in what your "mission" is in life....
Knowing the mission and all it will take for you to accomplish it truly puts the pressure on you having a good relationship with God
Jesus prayed a lot to God that he would live up to the expectations of God for the purpose of his life....

You should find a friend or relative who is a believer, and begin to study the Word. When you are comfortable, you should try to find a good church with welcoming arms and a solid foundation based on The Word. Begin praying, in whatever fashion you feel comfortable with, and let the Lord guide you. Good luck in your findings, and may God continue to bless your life.

Why have you gotten away from "it"? Try to think back to the time you first had these feelings of separation. Then you should be able to begin to understand why you feel the way you do now.
Getting back to your first love should be your first and biggest priority. Asking for forgiveness from a repentent heart. Remember the story of the "prodigal son"?
