No one believes in evolution. Most people understand it's basics. Some people understand more. I would be "some people." Atheists tend to understand it more often because they are not hampered by propaganda.

Be careful. I'm a Satanist, and I like several atheists who are quite knowledgeable in a lot of areas, especially because of evil people who call themselves Christians who use and abuse their religion as some kind of excuse to play God with peoples lives- the bible is a hypocritical document that contains contradictory versus and excludes all kinds of new documents. Why don't you take your argument up with Pen & Teller.
