See the thing is... my aunt's wedding is at the end of this month and I already bought a dress. I thought it was nice until my mom said she thought it was too fancy, (the wedding is being held during the afternoon, just to let you know). I was devastated, My grandma bought it on her credit card for like... $150, and I don't know what to do. I also began to realize as I was looking for shoes and a wrap to go over the dress that it would be impossible to find good colors to match the dress! My Grandma LOVES it , she thinks it's perfect. I just don't know what to say or do. Any advice?

wear it anyway. skip the wrap and pair it with some cute flats or sandals. Try a simple hairdo and natural looking makeup to make your look more subtle. who cares what mum thinks. who cares what gram thinks. Do YOU like the dress? then wear it!

Since you are having trouble accessorizing the dress, I would talk to grandma about exchanging it for something more appropriate. If you attend the wedding, and you aren't dressed appropriately, you will feel uncomfortable all day. Save the fancy dresses for your Spring Dance, or some such occasion. Mom knows best.

What colr is the dress?
Don't match the dress, compliment it with your accessories. And unless it's super lacy or you look like a Christmas ornament, I shouldn't think it too fancy.
If anyone says anything, tell 'em GRANDMA bought it as a gift to you. If they have a problem with what you're wearing, tell them to see her.
I bet you'll look awesome.

I say agree with grandma; she's 'been-there' 'done-that' much longer than your mom. Not that your mom isn't right, but your grandma sounds like she'd be honest with you too. As long as it's not revealing, who cares?! Go have fun and wear that cute dress! Shoot, the bride already HAS her man!

Ask your aunt. It's her wedding, and if she says it looks nice, ignore everyone else. Your grandmother and your aunt should be able to help you overrule your mother.
And as for shoes, have you asked any friends. I have found that if you ask friends, someone is bound to help. After all, that's what friends do best.
