feminists are always saying that, but why so? if it's because girls can't do anything about it, then that's false. girls do have limited control over the way they look. and lets assume that girls aren't attracted to good looks. they attracted to smart, funny, and popular guys. guys have little or no control over those things. some guys just don't have high iqs or didn't get a good education. and some guys, like me, just aren't funny. i have a sense of humor and try to be funny, but people never think of me as the funny guy. and if you think it's just not right to make girls change their appearances and worry about their looks so guys will like them, then is it really right to make boys try to be something they're not just so that girls will like them? so feminists, is it not shallow for guys to be attracted to pretty girls? or is it also shallow for girls to be attracted to smart, funny, and popular guys? or are you just a bunch of hypocrites?

I think you've got the wrong ideas about this. If you have ever dated a pretty girl, just because she was pretty, you will know that looks only hold your interest for a short period of time before something more substantial is required to keep you interested (you can get used to the way an attractive person looks very quickly): Unless, of course, you are shallow and a person's outer package is all you need to keep you amused long-term, in which case you might choose only pretty women to date regardless of their personality, intelligence, interests etc. To your second question: Yes, generally a woman who cannot take a compliment on the way she looks has a problem.

I have to agree with you completely. Feminists are a very hypocritical group. Although they preach that men and women are equal, the majority of them believe that it is worse for men to hit women than men to hit women? Why is this? If you think about it enough the allegorical message behind this is that think females are weaker than men and have to be protected by this social law. Those who say they are not attracted to good looks are liars. It is scientifically proven that people tend to favor those with better looks. Thoses who claim they aren't are just repressing their attraction. Shallow itself could be defined in many ways but I personally find it that those who are attracted to a person purely because of something besides of personality is shallow. Those who say they are attracted to smart men are even more shallow because our society looks down upon those who are attracted because of good looks. So they focus their repressed shallowness into intelliegence instead of looks because it is more socially acceptable. I hope you read and understand everything I wrote.

There has to be a physical attraction but that's not where it stops. I'd hope someone could quit looking at me long enough to realize I am not a ditz and have a good heart. No, it's not shallow unless looks are strictly all they take into consideration.

of course it isnt shallow. there has to be some sort of physical attraction there as well, lets be honest. but to like them ONLY because of their looks, yes. that is shallow. you have to get to know a girl, her good traits and her bad traits. a guy that helps her work on her bad traits is one who is really good for her. and the only guy who deserves a girl...is the one who thinks he doesnt.

its not shallow, because beauty is intended to attract the eye . i think that it could only seem shallow if a woman being complimented and feeling attractive is considered shallow.

I think that sometimes people get so caught up in what they want for themselves that they forget that everyone is different. Everyone has specific things they are attracted to, that doesn't make them wrong, or bad.
