I know a lot of people who likes to escape from the world with the T.V. and not with The Holy Bible. T.V. didn't became the new God, did it?

I am hoping also NOT! Unfortunately... TV nowadays is like a god to several people. Their life revolves around what should be and not to be done according to this media of communication.

We are in the era that what becomes common as a language to describe our mode of existence is....INSTANT! we want everything to be fast-served, fast-paced---one click of a button----to satisfy our needs and desires.

I guess this issue is a lot more complex than it appears....it is rooted, i would say, in gradual [or from an extremist's view: abrupt] change in our understanding of what "Meaning" is all about.

Most of us, unfortunately, loss the sense of being grounded on what is essential [that is being in touch with our own selves]. And because of this reality [i am referring to the INSTANT sense of our living], reading the bible or paying attention to what is far more important in life, becomes TOO boring or even NONSENSE. This is also in connection to our fundamental description of HAPPINESS and SELF-FulFILLMENT. Sad to say....both are equated by many to materialism, to what is satisfying and fulfilling at present.

I remember what an old preacher said about 30 years ago, he called the TV " THE ONE EYED DEVIL " remember that back then all TV's had rabbit ears to tune in the signal.
Not everyone watches TV all the time, I only watch about 5 hours of TV a week.

exactly why i hate the tv. i usually watch it once a week to watch lost and thats it.i remember in 5th grade we had video announcements held by the student council and when it was time for the pledge, the kids wouldnt turn to the flag the would stay faced to the tv. i asked a boy "why do you pledge to the tv and not the flag?" his replie: "the tv is sacred. more important than the stupid flag.

whoever told you this is nuts.... sorry. Sounds like cult words to me. i watch Joyce Meyers on TV and she loves God. We can certainly read our Bibles every day just like we can watch TV.
