what are the basis why we cant eat meat on Fridays if it is the season of Lent? Is it said in the bible? Do we have to fast 40 days and 40 nights like Christ did?

Fasting is a private expression of respecting the sacrifices that Christ made. Be careful, however, not to make it an outward expression:

16"When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 17But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
Matthew 6:16

no you don't have to fast for 40 days and 40 nights. i don't know about you but when i fast i don't eat or drink anything for 2 consecutive meals-1 time every month. the reason is that all the food we would have eaten can go to someone else. although it is indeed sometimes hard to do, in the end it's all worth it cuz you know you may have just saved someone from starving to death- who bought the food you would have gotten. for example say there is only one packages of hot dogs let at the supper market and because you are fasting you don't buy it, some person who is suffering through some hard trial and doesn't have the energy to make a nice hot meal for her 3 kids and herself buys it. they may not realize 10 sec. ago you decided not to buy that exact package and how grateful they are to you.

Perhaps it represents the fasting Jesus did. IF you don't want to don't but shouldn't we let those who want to do it. I do not believe it is said in the bible.

In the past people didn't eat meat on any Friday not only in Lent. (Catholics mainly I believe) NO that isn't in the bible either. But not everything we do is. (Catholic or not) I like to let people show their beliefs in any way they choose that doesn't hurt anyone else.

To remind us of the sacrifice of Christ on Good Friday. Yes, we fast (varying degrees) for forty days - but NEVER on Sundays, as that is the day we celebrate the Lord's Resurrection

Not eating meat on friday is a catholic thing and there is no teaching in the word of God to do so ,its just another way for religion to put you into bondage ,Except Jesus as Lord and Savior

No, the original christian fasting meant spiritual fasting (not eating of the world). The Catholics took it literally.
