That is their parents job!

2007-03-23 09:44:14 · answer #1 · answered by Pamela V 7 · 0 0

No, I wouldn't -- especially not without the parents' knowledge or consent. God doesn't want His people to be sneaky or underhanded, and trying to covertly convert another person's child just seems wrong to me.

I'd rather get to know the family and show them the love of Christ through the things that I do and the way I live. That's a much more honest and effective witness than going behind their backs.

no...because i am not the parent...i am a Christian....so i would try to convince the parents first. Jesus says that parents should pass Christianity on to their children and teach them of Him. i am not the childrens parent and it is my duty to spread the news of Christ but the parents may not like the fact i am teaching them a religion that their family doesnt believe. but if the parents were not convinced....i could tell the children some breifly about Jesus...like about when they are sad....tell Jesus and He will come to them....but i can not sit there and give a sermon due to the fact the parents may not like it.

Not a good idea, especially with their parents not being aware of your intentions. Common sense should tell you not to meddle with other people's children. You can be sued or even possibly find yourself in trouble with the police. It's considered harassment and even though we have the freedom to worship due to the 1st Amendment, it's not a good idea to want to encourage the message of your beliefs upon someone if you don't know the other person's personal convictions first.

No, I would not. Parents have the right to raise their child in any faith or non-faith they feel compelled to.

If you are raising your children to worship Jesus Christ, would you appreciate someone of another faith wishing to impose their views upon your children? Probably not.

I am a Buddhist and I raise my children in the realm of showing love and kindness, non-violence and compassion to all of humanity. Our family does not believe in any traditional God, and we have had many people try and teach our children about other methods of faith. While we teach our children to respect everyone's beliefs and never pass judgement, I do not feel it is anyone's right to imply to my children that our teachings are not right. They are right for our life and we are providing our children with a loving foundation in which to live their lives...it is our right not to teach them about Jesus Christ or any other God, just as it is your right to teach your children about the belief system you have chosen to follow.

We must respect everyone's beliefs...we are indiviudals and should be treated as such.

I hope this helped put a little perspective on your question...I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness...

Jesus in no way advised his followers to worship him. He directed all worship to his Father. As Jesus mentioned at John 4:23: "however the hour cometh, and now's, whilst the actual worshippers shall worship the father in spirit and fact: for such doth the father seek for to be his worshippers." Worship is going in basic terms to the father because of the fact he's the "in basic terms actual God." (John 17:3) Jesus is the Son of God. (John 10:36)

No. Besides, Jesus said that worship and prayers should be directed to his Father only. Luke 4:8; Matt. 6:9.

Not really verbalized. Just by loving actions and kindness they become interested themselves and ask questions. Absolutely no prompting on my part but an inner longing on theirs. One little girl made the choice that when she grew up she was going to go to church. She never made it to grown-up because she died in a car crash but she loved the Lord so much and I believe was definitely ready. Just a natural outpouring of His Spirit. We must be ready moment by moment because life is so fragile and temporary. Mmm

I would mind my own business. Are you already the best person you can be? Is this why you have time to change somebody elses life. Plus these are not your kids and everyone doesn't believe what you do. I think Jesus can get this one on his own.
