So, you are blaming the girls? How original!
I'd start looking at lack of parental involvement first and foremost. When a young girl has sex it's because she is looking for someone to love her. Young guys are always manipulating young girls to give in. If mom and dad aren't around to monitor the situation, then who will?

TV propaganda is what does it. Don't forget TV is a sales tool, and the market is the younger generation with all that spending power. And everybody wants a piece of that. So children are made to grow up quickly so that the big ticket items can be sold to them.....l'il Sally gets a brand new pair of high heel shoes costing $250 and a hairdo for another hun. instead of sneakers and a pony tail, and a skip rope.
Who are you gonna blame? They are being brainwashed.
You are looking at it right. It is a final commitment between a husband and wife. or whatever you want to call it.
All those derogatory words you have heard in the school yard over the years apply to loose girls. There is no respect there.

Maybe the society has finally accepted that sex is a natural thing that is close to impossible. Our society constantly represses our sexual desire by saying that sex is bad but that just shoves it into our subconscious. The media also has some music artists that encourage sex. An example is the pussycat dolls, nelly fertuade's song promiscious. Remember, rap is now a mainstream form of music and that almost always include talking about how the rapper like 60 girls who have sex with him any times he wants or something like that. An exception is the more serious raps.

What you say has a lot truth; however, I believe the kids today are coming from "blended" families. These girls are looking to make a "home". They feel getting with an "older boy" would be more mature. They forget that they are ALL kids. I think it needs to be addressed by the guidance counselor & parents. It's a major problem. Our nation needs to address this NOW. The STD's past around in our schools is sickening. I teach my kids abstainence by putting the FEAR of God into them. Not religion but internet pics of these STD's. Showing them what genital warts, herpes, sypholis looks like...it's VERY scary! I let them know that some are spread without any symptoms. I love that herpes commercial! lol It backs me up as a parent!

I agree with you, and I find it really sad that kids are having sex at younger ages. Alot of it I believe is what kids are being taught in schools, especially some of the sex ed programs that public schools teach, thye are teaching stuff that should NEVER be taught in schools. Also look at all the trash on tv today, the sitcoms on tv are full of sexuality. Unlike shows back in the 80's like Growing Pains, and Full House, and shows like that. It also doesn't help that we live in a society that pushes sex in just about everything.
I belive that it causes a distorted view of reality for kids.

You're right, sex is happening at younger ages than it used to. Proper parenting helps a lot, but more important is proper education. I often tell my teenagers, "It is my job to get you through your adolescence single, singular, and alive." While I have minimal control in whether or not they choose to have sex, I have educated them on topics such as abstinence, STD prevention, birth control, importance of self-esteem, and of course AIDS. The media is full of sex and violence; the thing to remember is that sex is natural, while violence is unacceptable; and the two should NEVER be combined. Open communication is mandatory in a parent-child relationship, but is sadly lacking in most.

Sad isn't it?
You are not looking at it wrong. Sex before marriage has become a way of life in the US now.

That has been going on for years - this is not a new phenomenon. It's about finding love when you don't get it at home. The answer is solving the underlying issue not the one everyone sees. This doesn't only occur in young adults.

Well, sex is natural. It's a basic human instinct on which our survival depends. Thousands of years ago, people were married/paired off as soon as they became sexually mature. In modern society, the average age of marriage is many years past the age of sexual maturity. So, it's natural that people have instincts to have sex as teenagers. And, because it's so basic, it's a hard instinct to resist.
