My meatloaf, which I made up on my own, gets rave reviews. I don't use either bread crumbs or crushed crackers. 1 lb ground beef 2 eggs 1/2 can of rotel 1/4 cup chopped white onion 2 tblspoon of white flour Garlic salt Fresh Ground Pepper Preheat oven to 350, combine all ingredients and of course mush up together. I bake mine in an 8x8 glass dish for a half hour. Then i remove it, drain the fat, and sprinkle brown sugar (just a bit) on top, then layer ketchup on it. I put it back in the oven for 10 mintues to turn it into kind of a glaze then take it out and let it cool for 5 minutes or so, the serve!! I have gotten SOOO many compliments on this! Sometimes I add some chopped bell pepper, but that is if I feel like chopping it. :)

Yes you can, here is a recipe that has them in it...
1 egg
1/4 cup 2% milk
1/3 cup crushed saltine crackers
3 tablespoons chopped onion
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon rubbed sage
Dash pepper
1/2 pound lean ground beef
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
DIRECTIONS
In a bowl, beat the egg. Add milk, cracker crumbs, onion, salt, sage and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into two loaves; place in a shallow baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine the ketchup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce; spoon over meat loaves. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40-45 minutes or until meat is no longer pink and a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees F; drain.

I wouldn't suggest using saltines unless you want salty meatloaf.

Works very well,if you are not concerned about the salt content. You could use unsalted crackers. Rice works too.
