They say that water for a person is like oil for a car--you need it to keep yourself running. They suggest a minimum of 4 glasses of plain water, and 4 glasses of other decafeinated, non-alcoholic beverages per day.

water will dilute, lubricate or lower your blood viscosity, which carries oxygen necessary for the brain to function effectively, in exrteme caes of dehydration, the blood thickens, flows sluggish, not enough oxygen to the brain, non vital functions shuts down, finally vital organs fails, & death, some says 8 glasses a day, depending where you're & what you do , 4-8 glasses a day

The same importance as water is to the rest of your body.

Your body will tell you if it needs more water(i.e. you get thirsty.)

Don't drink excessive amounts though. You could die from water intoxication.

it very clearly affects your ability to think , and increses amounts of headaches when you dont get water.
if you ddont work out try to get at least a quart of fluid per day. If you do 2 to 3 quarts minimum.
