OMG are they really thinking about haveing Rages To Richies run in the Kentucky Derby!? I was just on...

http://www.kentuckyoaks.com/2007

And at the bottom of the top head-line it says they're kind-a thinking of running her in the Derby! Well I guess it said that she is the favorite of-course to run in the Oaks, UNLESS they decide to run her in the Derby.

Now why is Riches so good of a race horse, I mean yea she can run but Dreaming of Anna has more win then Riches... what's with that?
Tell me your opinion! Thanx!!!!♥

Dreaming of Anna is my horse, I still think she has what it takes to beat the boys in the Derby this year, but her owner and trainer are only going to run on grass from now on with the possible exception of the Oaks. She's lost both of her races this year, but improved. I think she should get one more race on dirt and then they should decide. Anna's a very good horse and a good runner; remember, she beat the boys once last year! Rags to Riches is also a good runner. It's not only about wins that trainers and owners use to decide if a horse is good enough to run in any given race. How well did she run last time out? This time out? Is she a strong horse? Is she improving? It's the same criteria that is used to decide to try a colt in the Derby. I think Riches might be good enough to run in the Derby. Depends on what her trainer thinks mostly. Anna's trainer and owner don't think she has it in her now to win, so why risk it? I hope they change thier minds though.

At some point every owner dreams of running their Filly against the Colts (a la Winning Colors), even Dreaming of Anna's owner toyed with the idea. Rags to Riches is REGALLY bred, being out of AP Indy (Seattle Slew) and Better Than Honour (Deputy Minister); so there is little doubt that the classic distances will be a problem for her.

She has won so impressively so far, and made it look like paid work outs too boot; that I'm sure it's hard for them to not think about running her against the boys. They plan on running her against the boys in a lesser race, if she wins again so easily I think they really might consider it. Just my opinion on that though.

Well, if they do decide to run her against the boys, they will have to do it in one of the final Derby prep races to see how she will fare. I think her best chance of gaining some confidence against the boys is either the Santa Anita Derby or the Toyota Blue Grass.
