You would be considered an "Unattended Minor" by the airline. While procedures differ by airline, basically your parent or guardian would have to take you to the airport and to a travel representative. They will sign some paperwork, and you will be escorted onto the plane. At arrival a parent or guardian , with I D must meet you and sign paperwork for you to be released to them. Call your specific airline for exact requirements.

You would be able to go, some airlines say that 14 still requires a UM, or unaccompanied minor, and you will have airline staff stay with you... otherwise, you are good to go, I think if you are flying alone you might need an ID at any age, mabye I'm wrong though... check with your airline...

You can go, but your mom has to take you to the airport and to the gate. You get preboarded on Southwest airlines so you can sit wherever you want. If you have a connection you have to check with the airline on the different policies

its not as complicated as you may think. many airlines at a certain age, will consider you an adult (as some one referred to, it may be 14) depending on the airline, they may have different standards, all your parents need to do is accompany you to the check in counter, make sure that they tell employees that you are traveling alone, and to make sure you get to the gate and on the aircraft safely.

If you're 14, you are considered an adult by all airlines.
You don't need any ID at any airports in the U.S.
You do everything a normal passenger would at the airport and you book it like anyone else would.
