I am looking into providing solar power for a house I am moving into but I need to know how much energy I would need to cover to go completely solar and nothing on the grid.

350 watts is my target. Only get CF lighting. Low watt TV. PC with lcd monitor. Hot water for dishes and shower is solar. look into batch heating, super cheap and effective. clothes dry is solar. Heat house is solar and/or fireplace. Easier done in South. Stereo would be clock radio with big speaker wired into it. 6 watts for that. I'm doing it now with a Big Pioneer cabinet wired to the clock radio. Sounds GREAT for 6 watts. Electric company hates me:)
