The golden rule: treat others as you would be treated. Be kind, forgiving, merciful, compassionate, generous, gentle. Let someone go first. And never, ever return evil for evil.

--This is what Mahtma Gandhi recommended:

*** gh chap. 4 pp. 29-30 A Practical Guide to True Happiness ***

A BOOK THAT SOLVES PROBLEMS

2 The Bible can be of tremendous practical value to us. Many thinking persons have acknowledged this fact. As an example, there is the following report in Treasury of the Christian Faith by S. J. Corey concerning a conversation between the Hindu leader Mahatma Gandhi and the former British Viceroy of India, Lord Irwin:

“Lord Irwin paid a visit to the Mahatma in his ashram. During the conversation Lord Irwin put this question to his host: ‘Mahatma, as man to man, tell me what you consider to be the solution to the problems of your country and mine.’ Taking up a little book from the nearby lampstand, Gandhi opened it to the fifth chapter of Matthew and replied, ‘When your country and mine shall get together on the teachings laid down by Christ in this Sermon on the Mount, we shall have solved the problems not only of our countries but those of the whole world.’ That from a Hindu!

Following the true teachings of Christ and keeping him as our model would make all the difference in the world , but because the world would find that too inconvient --that is why God will bring on Armaggedon with survivors who indeed will be :

(Psalm 37:10-11) 10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."

(Matthew 5:5) 5 “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth."

Take the time to understand someone else's point of view and not be judgmental. If a person has an opinion about something, their experience will form an attitude and ultimately a belief.

If everyone lived by the Golden Rule, then the world we live in would be a perfectly peaceful place.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
