not at all...if they didnt really have a drinkin age then there wouldent be so many drinking problems, for example, in europe there is basically no drinking age and you never see drinking problems theere because everyone is aloud to drink , and therfor dont want to do it all the time. however here, there is a drinking age and underage kids sneak it all the time to be rebeleous and then when they DO turn 21 they go all crazi. they should definatly not change the drinking age to a higher age..IF ANYTHING they should lower it

absolutely not... Look at most other countries of the world where the drinking age is 16 or 18. The statistics of binge drinking, DUI's, etc. (minus alcoholism... that's present regardless of any age limit laws) are much different.
They are able to drink before they can even get a driver's license. The problem is in this country that "21" is the magic age. Drinking is seen as taboo under that age and therefore more teens partake in alcohol. Now, drinking and driving is VERY serious and those guilty should be punished. However, if we would stop making alcohol so taboo in this country kids would not be as apt to binge, leading to more problems. Look at the statistics alone in this country. I would guesstimate that the average age of the DUI is probably around age 40.

No...people are so irresponsible with alcohol now because the drinking age is too high and people do not get a chance to grow up with it. The more you restrict something, the more problems you get from it. Look at places where the drinking age for beer/wine is 16 and hard alcohol is 18...how many problems do they have compared to all of the alcohol-related problems we have in this country? People need to mature with it in their lives (I'm not encouraging drinking, I'm just saying they need to know how to be responsible with it), but unfortunately all lawmakers know how to do is further restrict these kinds of things so they look ostensibly like they're doing something..when in reality they're just avoiding the root of the problem.

in reality raising the drinking age wouldnt be a good idea because there a lot of people who can relate to this, i drank more before i turned 21, and it was cool so after i turned 21 it just wasnt as much fun, id rather sit home and get drunk with friends, if you raise the drinking age that gives more years for people to drink and its fun rather than its legal now and its boring, and what good whould collage be without beer and the bars at 21........good question though

Nope! wouldnt do a dam bit of good.Even if you were raised in a good solid family there's no stopping anyone. So widely avaliable, its as easy as buying cigarettes it doesnt matter. So many dumb ass people out there snorting coke, doing meth, turning into a bunch of drunkin fuckin idiots and all they have to do is chill out at home and smoke some good herb and maybe a few beers and life will be so much happier for everyone, but young people dont realize till its too late. What a shame! all these young beautifull people losing there lives driving super ****** up..If that was my child i would be devistated.Oh well! everyone has there own opinion, and im an old **** thats happy just with some good ol refer and a glass of water sitting at home. have a great day..

I have always believed this.
If a man or woman are old enough to vote, drive a car and go to war, have sex and get married, they should be old enough to drink.
We need better education and stricter laws to those who have break the law regarding the over consumption and dispensing of alcohol and the crimes that result.
We were drunk during the Prohibition or simply drew the blinds and enjoyed a drink in the privacy of our own home.
People will find a way as long is it is available for mass consumption.

Its already the highest in the world. How come every other country has a lower drinking age and they don't seem to have problems?

I don't think it would solve anything. It might make things worse. It's unfair to people 21-24 that are responsible about it.
There are 24 year old adults that have really good, important jobs. The thought that they might not be able to legally drink is ridiculous to me. Think about it...
You've been through college, you have a really great job, a spouse, children, (yeah young, but it happens)... and you can't have a glass of wine because you aren't old enough yet?!
Crazy

All that would would do would be to create more underage drinkers. The government should just enforce the current laws, making the punishment mor severe for those who violate the law.
