NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! Ok.....so 6mos, maybe a bit far fetched, but the BEST thing you can do for your hair right now is let it grow natural. AND, keep your scalp clean, because hair grows from these follicules in your scalp, it wont be very helpful if you have a ton of bacteria, gunk and oil on it. So keep scalp clean and clear, so h air wont have a hard time coming out. Also, massage your scalp, I know that sounds crazy but it helps with blood circulation. Here are some awesome sites that will help you begin your hair journer:
http://nappyme.wordpress.com/tag/my-nappy-hair-characteristics/, http://motowngirl.com/twists.php, http://www.roshini.net/journal/1999/1999_4.html, http://www.nappturality.com/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=57.
CHECK THEM OUT; they are excellent sources! You'll be suprised... you may even have fun (GASP) in the next 6 mos, and also there are a ton of good books out there that can help you out. If you're hesitant bout going natural the next best thing is to try cornrows, after abot a month or 2 when your hair is strong enough.
Good Luck!
Be happy bein nappy!
P.S. Stay away from any perms/relaxers/hair texturers...the cross reactions will only cause more damage....trust me, my hair fell out too ;-P

Sorry about your hair falling out--as a black woman I know thats rough when that happens to us...But anyways, the best you can do is trim your ends so your hair can grow back healthy and massage your scalp at night. Massaging your scalp helpes your hair to grow long...Until then, since your man is coming back, you might want to think about getting some good old fashioned extensions in order to create the look you want. But please do not use glue--that takes your hair out. Save up the money to get an "infusion weave" or have someone sew it in.

Also, since your man is coming back--I think the most important thing you can give him is some good old fashioned counceling. Alot of Iraq war vets are suffering from stress disorders and it could affect your marriage. He may need some space to tralk with a therapist for a few months--and you can be there for him emotionally. The army is not taking good care of the Iraq vets. Dont expect it to be like the movies wheere the soldier comes home from war and starts making love to his wife and partying..Your husband will need space and time to heal. Be patient and be there for him.

There is no fast way to make your hair grow back. The average persons hair grows a half an inch a month. The only disguise is to put extentions in or wear a wig. sorry sweetie.

The easiest way is to wear a weave/wig, and im sure it would look great! Avoid over combing your hair because this makes hair break easily. Use hair oils and massage your scalp with them. A helpful tip is to wrap your head in a silk headwrap when you go to bed.

dear chris,
on the average woman the hair grows back at the rate of about 1.2 inch per month. sorry you're having such bad luck with your new perm. just try to keep it well conditioned and maybe that will help you. Good Luck

You can't make it grow back. Hair typically grows about 1/2 inch per month.

The only way for fast hair growth is the follicle hair treatment for men, surgical or medicinal. I'm not sure about it for women, but if you want course hair i'd try it out, the medical of course.

I guess this would be a site but not sure, try googleing it

thats about impossible for a black woman(no offense i'm afro-caribbean ) i cut my hair off last year and it hasn't grow since
i suggest you use somecastor oil, oliveoil and stay away from anything containing alcohol, and dont use heat if your hair doesn't grow back just get a weave or a wig
