I'm doing an extended definition essay on the word "innocence." I also had to do some pre-writing work, a "definition map", and the teacher wants us to put what category is our word. The example is, "wisdom's category is 'kind of knoweledge.' " I was wondering what category of words is innocence?

That sounds really interesting. We didn't do that when I was in school, but I wish we had!
"innocence" is an abstract noun, but so is "wisdom", so she's looking for something else. There are different kinds of innocence - lack of guilt (legal/moral); lack of experience (education/culture?).
Try both the regular dictionary and a good thesaurus. They can probably help you figure out what kind of category you mean.
Good luck!
