is this supposed to be humorous?
are you seriously asking what has the world come to?
when has it ever been OK to make fun of or put down someone else's culture or religion.
its not a towel, or a face covering as you so rudely worded it here.
I'm not even going to waste my time answering your plain stupid question, because you're the kind of person who makes our society fall.
GO EDUCATE YOURSELF!

I think its funny how all you Muslim/Hindu people take offense to these questions of towels(cloths would be considered a towel) on the head and talk **** about Americans but want to come to America and flourish in your small bigot communities of your own. Its time to step out of the year 1650 and get with the times. If you can't handle the "Americans" looking at your ladies then go back to the promise land! As for knocking the bread and wine religion its a little more complex than you think. If it wasn't for us you wouldn't be here making money, eating good and enjoying your free grants and scholarships. IG you can't hack it then buy 15 plane tickets and peace out!

Your question depends on generalizations. First, Muslims are different ethnicities with different clothes and traditions. What you see as "head towel" is a style of men clothing that is seen as elegant as the English see the hat. It is called 'iqal' and worn in Gulf countries and in some parts of Syria, Lebanon and Palestine. As an instance of diversity, people of other Islamic counries wear turbans or elegant red hats called Fez, which originated in Morocco, in a city called Fez. In Malysia and Indonisia they wear other clothes and hats. European Muslims wear Western clothes.
Islam did not come with a specific clothing. It is not a command of God, or Allah in Arabic.
It is cultural and traditional.
So is for women.

Towels? Please have an eye exam. No there is no thread count commanded by Allah. Many women cover their faces because they don't like men looking at them in ways some men look at women!

Why do you never get an eye check up and new glasses? Is there a certain "eye Q" level you're determined never to reach?
Ummm, I forgot: A bigot is a bigot is a bigot is a bigot, and never the intelligence shall rise--even when you hide behind what is supposed to pass for wit.

For the same reason people in Southern States wear wide-brimmed hats and scarves: to protect themselves from the sun.
It is also a cultural statement, like a person from Scotland wearing a tartan, or a woman from India wearing a sari. It is clothing, and in some instances, a beautiful style.

What it is called is Hijab, that covers the hair. The Burqa however, covers all of your body and head. It's not a towel or scarf. Joke? The only "joke" we see is you.. filthy coward.

I have been to Dubai on a business trip for one week and my Arabic friend hooked me up with a pretty Arab girl who agreed to spend remaining week with me, including having sex in the day time till evening. Midnight they go home to husbands or family. That evening she turned up with the head to toe black dress and I would not identify her, if she does not lift her piece of cloth from face.
When I asked, my friend told me, arabic prostitutes does not want their husbands or family to know their whereabouts. It is funny no would know who is under the black dress.
