If not prepared properly, it can be very dangerous (trichinosis). So there were food taboos around it long ago. As described even in the CHRISTIAN bible.
I believe they were forbidden the meat of any cloven hooved animal that did not chew it's cud.
And they don't HATE it, they just avoid it. I know some muslim students who accidentally ate some and they just shrugged it off and said if it's a mistake, it's no big deal.

We don't hate pork, but instructed not to eat it or touch it. The only time a Muslim can willfully consume pork is if dying from hunger. Alcohol falls into that category also. Allah (SWT) knows best.

We don't eat pork because it is a very unclean animal and shameless animal. And science is showing today that it is also very unhealthy! And for these reasons consuming it was not allowed by God, as it clearly says that in the Quran.

They don't hate it.....they avoid it because they do hold much in common with Judaism -- including dietary restrictions. Jews eat "Kosher"; Muslims eat "Kasher". Both groups are Semitic peoples -- although the term "anit-Semitic" almost always refers to Jews. Both claim Abraham as the founder of their faith. Both make pilgrimages to their holy land: Jews to the one also known as the Holy Land to Christians and Muslims to the Kabba in Mecca. Neither group accepts Jesus as the Son of God/Messiah -- although Muslims do believe in the Virgin Birth and that it is Jesus who will come at the end of time to judge the living and the dead.

Pigs aren't fussy what they eat. In mediaeval times, human waste from houses went into the pig pen for them to eat. I suspect the admonition against eating pork has something to do with that. Of course, it has no relevance today.

There's nothing wrong with it, of course. Some old superstition about cloven hoofed animals. Go figure. I'm having a pork chop right now. lol

they don't exactly hate it, they just aren't allowed to eat it because Muslims used to worship cows like gods. There were golden idols made like cows, etc. I'm not sure if it is still held so high but not eating pork is because of religion, not because of disliking it.

they don't hate it, that's forbidden to devour it, for Jews besides, in line with Mosaic regulation, that's unclean because of chance of trichinosis, because in the time of Moses, they did not learn about parasites and had no way of understanding if a beef roast replaced into thoroughly cooked or no longer (no meat thermometers).

just like the Jews, Seventh day Adventist (like me)
we don't eat pork because it is unclean, pigs don't have pores in there body so there is no way for them to clean out their system, except to defecate, but they will turn around and it.
