In Missouri you need proof of lawful presence, proof of identity and proof of residency.

Not sure what state your from, but here in Illinois, you do need your birth certificate. At least when you first get your license. Wouldn't hurt to call whatever agency issues the license to see if it's needed.

It can be useful, especially if you have been married and divorced, your identity chain can be traced with the use of the birth certificate. Most states will not accept this alone, since there is no picture available.

Most states require a certified copy, which is not the one you got at birth. If you haven't gotten it already, check with the state you were born in to get a certified copy.

If u already had ur permit no, if ur just taking the test after 18 yes u need it

That would depend on your state. just check the phone number for the DMV online or in the yellow pages, and the people should be able to tell you/

i have had licenses in three states and as long as you got ID you should be ok you can always call the DMV
