i gotta be honest here, i'm not a fan of Kicker. i dont think they sound good, and i've had 2 kicker amps take a dumb on me. if i were you i'd stear clear of kicker.

infinity and pioneer premier on the other hand make some good stuff. i'd look into pioneer premier and infinity kappa subs before you bought the kicker subs.

when buying a car audio system its important to have a buget and know exactly what you want, as far as gear. but dont just buy stuff from Circut City and Best buy, and call it good. there is a lot more great stuff out there. id listen to everything before i bought anything. that way you know your getting the best bang for your buck. here are some brands i highly recomend listening too, before you settle on a brand like kicker.

Boston Acoustics
Kenwood Excelon
MB Quart
Diamond Audio
Image Dynamics
Pioneer Premier

good luck to both or you.

Absolutely. Kicker has been producing excellent equipment for quite some time, & happen to be big on the car audio circuit. Same goes for Infinity & Pioneer. Just remember these things: subs need power to work, so make sure the amp is up to the task (enough watts per channel), as do the mids & highs. Separate amps for subs, mids, & highs are always good for crisp, clean sound. The other thing is to use quality wires! You get what you pay for, so DON'T SKIMP! Large gauge power & ground wires are a must, as well as quality rca cables (signal from head unit to amps) and speaker wire. Figure out how much of each type you need, then visit your car audio supplier. Gold connectors are always good as they help signal transfer, power transfer & last alot longer than twisted & taped messes, plus corrosion is less of a problem.

Your son knows what he is talking about. Kicker not matter what people say puts out some of the best sound for a great price. One thing I might say is also think about infinity subs and amp. For big sound with out taking up all the free space in your ride they rock. I run Kicker and infinity and I will never change. You don't have to spend a lot to get Hugh sound. Remind him to get a power cap, it will save the life of the car and the system. With what he wants to get, the right people installing it and at least a 1.5 to 3.0 F power cap he will be set for years of enjoyment. Hope this helps you both out and good luck.

thats a nice setup. I like the Pioneer Premier head unit. Im not to big on the kicker subs & amp. For subs and amps, i like Phoenix Gold. You can find them on ebay for good prices. For speakers would say try components up front. I also say Phoenix Gold for my component speakers. A good website for him to get ideas is www.cardomain.com. Search your vehicle year and model, and see what everyone else is using for sounds in their vehicle.

This should be a kick a-- system! I actually run kicker and infinity myself and probally won't run anything else. But, make sure that the amps that you get can handle the power that those kicker's require.

depends on if he has a truck or car? if he has a truck 2 10" bass speakers MTX speakers are good and not to high MTX also makes amps, there are alot better speakers to JL audio ect. depends on the amount he is wanting to spend, make sure you look at your speakers output watts dont get an amp to big or it will damage your speakers. pioneer cd player, kenwood are really good cd players. if he has a car 2 12" speakers. most of the time when u buy speakers the boxes do not come w/ speakers. who ever hooks it up make sure they know what they are doing with a amp wires can get hot make sure they use right size wire ect. any questions e-mail me benbatey2000@yahoo.com

sure sounds great what size woofers and what size kicker amp and what vehicle is it going in the reason being some kicker woofers require a large enclosure. Be sure infinity components are w/ application. good luck!!!!!!!

not bad for a first system, sounds good just make sure you run your wires correctly and fuse all your power wires to avoid an electrical fire and your set. ......good luck.
