The moment I accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, I stopped beating my wife. I don't mean I just restrained myself, but all desire to beat her left my heart. The Bible says that "husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church." Ephesians 5:28-29 This seems to fulfill what Jesus said in Luke 4:18-19 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim the good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
I have read the statistics and been to counseling, according to them my wife should be gone or dead by now.

Indeed, it is a sign of regeneration. The Holy Spirit has entered your life and this type of sinful behavior no longer has any appeal to you. Congratulations on accepting Jesus as your personal Savior, and may God continue to bless your life.

Are you asking for encouragement or giving your testimony? I'm sure that you're encouraged by giving your testimony. I read that you're a former dispensationalist also. You know in your heart whether or not you are regenerated. If you are asking because you feel the need for encouragement then that is a sign also of regeneration because you are having to do battle with the attacker of our faith. But if you're just asking to post your testimony then Praise God! He is worthy of all honor and glory! Halleluyah, let the earth and all that is within her rejoice!
edit:
If you have ungodly soul ties, such as with Freemasons, people you thought were Christian before, or any group that is in darkness then you need to come out of it because that is where the attack on your faith is coming from.

I was baptized catholic however i dont believe in god and all that stuff. Thats good that you stopped beating your wife. The stories in the bible may not be true. But the lessons you learn from them are important.
Also it doesnt matter if you are christian muslim or whatever. The only thing that really matter is your character. Being a good person is what really counts and being virtuous. Thats what most of the religions and/or philopshicies try to make out of people even though they have conflicting ideas. Being a good person is more important then being a christian. Because they are people who kill and stuff and are considered christians. Yet they are bad people and do bad stuff.

Most probably, yes.
When I accepted Jesus Christ, He also delivered me from something I had a problem with.. He gave me (instantly) the ability to overcome that!
Be aware, however, that not every area from our lives goes away instantly, when we become Christians. Some areas we have to learn to trust the Lord for them.
God bless.

If you have not repented and poured out your soul to the lord then you are not yet forgiven. Do that and you will be forgiven if you never do it again. You also have to fix the problem or it is not real repentence.

It just means you stopped beating your wife. You can not be a Christian and do things that seem good. Just because you do good doesn't make you a Christian.

I'm glad you stopped and something, even if it is a religion, is restraining your desires.
Why would you beat your wife in the first place? It's awful.
