Ummm, MLS doesn't stand for Missouri Lutheran Synod. As indicated before it is Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
I am inclined to think you are referring to Michigan Lutheran Seminary (MLS), which is one of our two preparatory schools for the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. LPS or Lutheran Preparatory School is the other.

I believe the MS stands for Missouri Synod and the L probably means Lutheran. The Missouri Synod is one branch of Lutheranism in the USA.
