LAWYERS .... LOT'S of qualified custody attn's. Each state has different standards & laws. But, if the parents are going to give your grandson away. Petition for adoption your self ... I've raised my gr. kids off & on for yrs. Baby boomers are raising gr.kids more than any other generation, according to AARP, they have imfo about this also.

As a grandparent, you can get an attorney and block the adoption. You can adopt the child yourself even. If you choose not to do that, and your son is ok with the adoption, then you have nothing else you can do. I'm mom to 3.

According to a number of recent court cases, Grand parents have no rights with regard to their grandchildren.
However, I would still check with the some state agency in your state, which may be different.
This is too important not to do something. See a lawyer, if you have to do so.

Why don't you call socail services and ask them to look into the case and possibly let you adopt him. I'm sure there is something you can do.
